Sketchbook Investigations: Opacity

So I've been basically playing around with shading for the past while and I have to say I really enjoy soft shading. It makes things look very realistic and is very intriguing to me.

I also learned of a new type of soft shading called Opacity. You take a certain shade and blend it to the color that it's put in front of. Opacity is used in soft shading very frequently to make things look alot more realistic. Light flows from place to place almost perfectly. I still need alot of practice with opacity when it comes to soft shading, but i'm learning more.

The picture above is one I made where i Combine both Hard and soft shading. This is the type of work that I hope to use in my final Project to create a mixed feeling of real and unreal.
